Pics from the weekend

Hi everyone. Thanks again for everything you did for us this weekend! Here are some of the better pics from Sunday afternoon. Connor might have won for most photogenic on this day, and I swear he looks like George W. Bush in the last picture of him running! Here is a link to a larger slide show. Let me know if anyone wants any originals.

Belly pics with the new camera

So we bought a new "semi-professional" camera to take tons of pictures of baby Hormuth when she arrives.  In an effort to get comfortable with the thing before baby comes, Mike started practicing last night.  My belly and Colby were the test subjects :)

Baby's Room in Progress

Sorry for the delay in posting.  It has been a busy summer so far!  Looking forward to the next few months and some fun lined up.

The Hagley's are coming next weekend for some Chi-town action and then later in the month we are in Ohio at Indian Lake with the Burns' for some lakeside relaxation.

Then comes August and the boy's draft and fun at the Lewand's.  Plus...the baby showers! :)

The crib and rocking chair for the baby's room came in last night and so we canceled our movie plans to put it all together :)  Starting to look more and more like a nursery and less like an office.

Stumbling into my 30's...

So yesterday I managed to fall out of the car when trying to go to the bank and have now injured my ankle.

No...I wasn't drinking (hello??? pregnant!), but I was full from dinner and might have been a little weighed down in the front :)

Anyhoo...I'm now sitting at work in an ankle brace and irritated that yet again, I can't take any good pain killers to get rid of the pain.

Tomorrow is the big 3-0 and I might be limping through it!  I just hope I am better by Sunday for our 5 mile walk for ACS.

I know I owe a posting with a belly pic, so I'll make sure to have Mike take one soon.  T minus 7 days and counting until we find out if we are having a boy or a girl!!!  I'm so freakin' excited!

I think I have Swine Flu...

not really, but this cold thing is getting old.  I've been sick for over a week and I think it is cruel and unusual punishment not to allow those who are pregnant to take drugs.  A humidifier and chicken soup just doesn't cut it.

Other than that, not much else to post on our end.  We finally had a few days of warmer weather here in Chi-town, but the rain didn't make it very enjoyable.

Looking forward to my 30th birthday in a little over two weeks!  Mike is taking me to see Jersey Boys and then to dinner with some friends.  I can't wait!  I've been dropping hints for Jersey Boys for about 2 years!!!!

If you are interested, we go in for our 20-week appointment on May 19th, so we'll be posting the sex of the baby for all to see.  The name is top secret :)

Ok...back to the humidifier and soup...stay tuned for the next post :)

God Help Us...

Mike just landed in Vegas and I'm praying that we don't go broke!  JUST KIDDING! :)  He's on "mancation" with Shaun, Jim and a few others, so let's hope they behave.

I doubt they will remember to take pictures, but if they do, I'll post them upon his return!

Wish him luck!

Holidays are Fast Approaching

So I'm sitting here writing this while Mike is out at his office holiday party.  He was nice enough to attend without the wife, so I could relax.  Work has been really busy and difficult and I'm looking forward to the holiday break.
We've got all the presents wrapped, house decorated, cookies baked and now we are just waiting for Christmas Eve at the Stewart/Berens!  Dinner of 7 Fishes, Church, Drinks and the hot tub...ah...gotta love that!
We're spending Christmas at home with just us and the dog.  It's going to be pretty low-key, which will be different.  This is the first year that I will spend the holidays without anyone from my immediate family, which scares me a little.  I've spent 26 Christmases with my brother and this will be the first without him :(
We're heading to GR for the Hormuth family Christmas on Jan. 1st and will be staying with the Hagleys and Burns families at Hotel Hagley.  Can't wait to see Michelle and her belly full of babies!  I still can't believe your having triplets, Michelle!  Hopefully, you'll let me make you dinner or something one night.  Kyla, your still on toilet cleaning duty, right?
Then...back to the grind :(
I hope everyone who reads this has a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
XOXOXO
Christina

Deck the Halls!

Mike and I (or maybe it was just me) were excited to get our holiday decorations up in the new house for our first Christmas here. I convinced Mike to get two trees to decorate :)

It took us about 2 days over the Thanksgiving holiday to finish putting everything up, but I think we are now officially into the Christmas spirit! Most of my shopping was done on "cyber Monday" so I'm looking forward to a relaxing the next few weeks wrapping gifts and baking cookies.

Turkey Day!

We had a very blessed Thanksgiving this year with the Fearing family! Lots of turkey (14 lbs thanks to Mike's excitement at the grocery store), sides and dessert (yummy peach cobbler!).

Emi enjoyed sharing her whipped cream with everyone :)

Can't wait for next year!

Basement Renovation

Since my first drywall experiment at our old place didn't go so well, we hired some help to finish the basement: http://picasaweb.google.com/hormuth/BasementRenovation#slideshow

InterHall Football Tradition

Just thought I'd share a cool article that talks about InterHall football at ND. As much as I loved being a manager, the one thing I regret was that it only allowed me to play one year of InterHall football. And we sucked.

Cool random fact: InterHall football exists largely because of support from Knute Rockne...I just learned the other day that Rockne grew up in the exact same neighborhood that we just moved into.

My First Post...

Okay...so we've decided to switch from a website to a blog.  This will allow me (Christina) to post more since Mike was the only one posting on our first website.  He's asking for trouble by giving me access! :)

We recently returned from our trip to Puerto Rico with our friends, Jan and Shaun, who I affectionately call Shan or Jaun :)  Check out the pictures below.  Had a blast and really enjoyed the warm weather versus the cold crap we came back home to in Chicago.  It's already snowed a couple times!

I'm hoping we post on this thing more often than just once a month like we did on the last site.  I may even post on a weekly basis!

For those who haven't heard from us in a while, here is the latest scoop...

We live in Chicago in a neighborhood just west of the city called Logan Square.  We bought our first house in May '08 and have been making it our own ever since.  We just finished our basement remodel and it is now one of our favorite rooms in the house.

We don't have any kids...yet :)  We do have a dog named Colby who is our buddy and makes us laugh on a daily basis.

Anyhoo enough of my rambling...if you are ever in the area...give us a shout!
